Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice’s hit musical »Evita«, first released as an album in 1976 and premiered in London two years later, is an artistic and emotional portrayal of the biography, the spectacular rise and fall of María Eva Duarte de Perón (1919 – 1952): how the fighter from a small Argentine village made it to the government palace, the Casa Rosada, and fought for workers’ and women’s rights.
