Biography
Christoph-Johannes Eichhorn was born in Erfurt. He studied piano with Prof Siegrid Lehmstedt and conducting with Prof Gunter Kahlert. He has won several prizes at the national »Jugend musiziert« competition. He was a member of the junior class at the »Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy« Academy of Music and Theatre in Leipzig. He later studied music there, majoring in accompaniment. He was a scholarship holder of the Richard Wagner Foundation.
From 2009, he was a solo repetiteur with conducting duties at the Musikalische Komödie, since the 2013/14 season, he has been coordinating conductor and solo repetiteur, since 2023 also Deputy Director of Studies. He has conducted productions of »In Frisco ist der Teufel los«, »Dracula«, »LoveMusik«, »Doktor Schiwago«, »Kuss der Spinnenfrau«, »Bullets Over Broadway« and »The Producers«, among others.
