Biography
Aleksandra Kica is a Polish costume designer living in Vienna. During her training as a fashion designer at the fashion school in Vienna, she created her first costume designs at the renowned Max Reinhardt Seminar in Vienna. There she worked for four years as a costume designer on numerous diploma and professorial productions. She also worked as a costume assistant at the Schauspielhaus Vienna under the directorship of Arian Berg and Barrie Kosky, where she costumed one of her first plays in 2007. Aleksandra Kica has been a freelance costume designer since 2007 and has already designed costumes for over 95 theatre plays, musicals, operas, operettas, dance and other projects. Her artistic roots lie in theatre, but in recent years she has mainly worked in the fields of opera and musicals and is one of the busiest costume designers in this field in the German-speaking world. Her work has been shown at the Seefestspiele Mörbisch, Burgtheater Wien, Ronacher Wien, Wiener Festwochen, Felsenreitschule Salzburg, Schauspielhaus Düsseldorf, Linz09 Kulturhauptstadt, Oper Leipzig, open-air stage at the Red Gate of the Augsburg of the Staatstheater Augsburg, Vereinigte Bühnen Bozen, Staatstheater Nünberg, Landestheater Innsbruck, Goodmann Theater Chicago, Nationaltheater Weimar and Volksoper Wien.
For the Musikalische Komödie, she has designed the costumes for »On the Town«, »Kuss der Spinnenfrau«, »Die Kinokönigin«, »Hello! Again?« and »Evita«.
