As a company owned by the City of Leipzig, Oper Leipzig pursues the mission of cultivating and promoting art and culture, non-profit status and economic efficiency in accordance with its statutes.

The purpose of the statutes is realized in particular through the operation and management of a music theater with the main artistic genres of opera, operetta, musical and ballet in the Opera House and the Musical Comedy.
