An immersive ballet between humans and technology
In cooperation with Musikalische Komödie Leipzig, Kunstkraftwerk Leipzig presents a world premiere: Volt[age] – an immersive ballet that brings the interdependence between humans and technology to life in a unique fusion of dance, interactive visuals and sound. Volt[age] breaks with traditional ballet conventions and creates a completely new stage experience. With the help of motion tracking and digital projections, visual elements react to the dancers’ movements in real time – sometimes in harmonious fusion, sometimes in tense resistance. The stage becomes a living interface between man and machine.
The production combines electronic techno sounds with orchestral soundscapes, creating a hypnotic acoustic dimension that emotionally intensifies the dance and the story. The choreography by Mirko Mahr, Sara Brandão and Lolita Valau brings this dramatic development to life with the ballet of the Musikalische Komödie. Behind the spectacular visuals and sound design is French digital artist and artistic director Nicolas Landrieux (Exhausted Lab), who is rethinking immersive art and challenging the boundaries of dance and technology with his multidisciplinary approach.
Experience a performance in which movement meets digital algorithms, creating an electrifying dialogue between humans and technology.
