Biography
Born in Flensburg in 1965, he has lived and worked as a freelance director and author in Berlin since 1987. Numerous productions at German-speaking municipal and state theatres, most recently »Jonny spielt auf« at the Gärtnerplatztheater in Munich, the world premiere of »Frankensteins Braut« at the Stadttheater Ingolstadt and »Die Großherzogin von Gerolstein« at the Graz Opera. From 1996 to 2004, Peter Lund was a director of the Neuköllner Oper in Berlin, and from 2002 to 2022 he was a director of the musical studies programme at the Berlin University of the Arts.
His plays are performed on numerous German stages, and his play »Hexe Hillary geht in die Oper« has become a secret hit in musical children's theatre in recent years. He has received numerous awards for his work, including the Austrian Music Theatre Prize for »Axel an der Himmelstür« (2017), for BEST BOOK (»GRIMM« 2015, »Welcome to Hell« 2018 and »Drachenherz« 2019, and BEST MUSICAL (»Stella« 2016) and BEST MUSICAL PICTURE at the NYC Independent Film Festival (2020).
