Biography
Born in Königs Wusterhausen. Trained as a carpenter and cabinetmaker. Studied architecture in Weimar and interior and industrial design with Prof. Arturo Dell’Acqua Bellavitis in Milan. Initially worked as an architect. First opera set at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater in Hamburg for Puccini’s »Suor Angelica«. Assistant to Marco Arturo Marelli at the Hamburg State Opera. Freelance designer and stage designer since 2000. Opera and ballet sets at the Opéra de Nantes, Meiningen State Theatre, Lodz Opera, Bremerhaven City Theatre, Dortmund Concert Hall, Dresden State Operetta, Augsburg Theatre, Linz State Theatre, Cologne Opera, Graz Opera House and the Neuzelle Opera Festival, among others. Collaboration with directors and choreographers such as Christine Mielitz, Peter Konwitschny, Mirko Mahr, Jasmin Solfaghari, Nicola Panzer, Thomas Mittmann, Birgitt Eckenweber, Kerstin Polenske and Volker Vogel. Costume design for the world tour of the artist show »Soap«. Various design projects, especially in the interior sector. Since 2020 mainly as a design architect in Potsdam. At the Musikalische Komödie: set design for »Crazy For You«, »Der Wildschütz« and »Alice in Wonderland«. At Leipzig Opera: stage design and costumes for »Hansel and Gretel« and »Snow White«.
